Walking Festival Showcases the Bay of Islands

Bay of Islands Walking Weekend & Food Fest | Sep/Oct 2014

There’s too much to do in one weekend, apparently, so this annual event based in Russell has added more walks to start 29 September and continue through to the main weekend and food festival, 3-5 October 2014

There are 20 walks to choose from – from a Cultural History tour around the Russell Village to an Island Ramble – just about something for everyone who loves to walk!

This is going to be a great week not only for the beauty of the bay but for the cultural and historic elements that are unique to this part of the world. To ensure you get the best out of the walks we have local guides to lead the way. Each walk is limited to 20 people, so get in quick to book.

Hungry after a walk? No worries.
The Food Fest is open to everyone, walkers and non-walkers. As long as you are hungry you are advised to attend on Saturday October 4th from 1pm till 10pm at The Duke of Marlborough Tavern in Russell.

Russell is a fantastic base for the weekend with lots of great restaurants, places to stay – including gay owned – and for the non-walkers out there, plenty of things to do.
