Get Your History Straight And Your Nightlife Gay

City of Brotherly and Sisterly Love

Love is Love

Philadelphia was founded more than 300 years ago on principles of equality and freedom of expression. Today, the “City of Brotherly Love” is a welcoming place for people from around the world.

Famous as the birthplace of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the cradle of liberty offers much more than cobblestone streets and historical landmarks. Cultural, culinary, artistic and ethnic treasures abound in this city and its surrounding countryside.

In 2003, locals launched the “Get Your History Straight and Your Nightlife Gay” campaign. Ten years on, Philadelphia is a gay-friendly tourist destination with a flag-marked LGBT friendly district. Gay and lesbian visitors have helped to rebrand Philadelphia as “City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.”

Philadelphia’s nine block “Gayborhood” is full of great shopping, dining, nightlife and more, a wonderful place to stay, bar hop, party and cruise! Located in the heart of The Washington West neighborhood, Philly’s gayborhood is just four blocks south of City Hall and the CBD.
