The Empire Hotel is a character building which stands on the sunny side of Lyttelton's London Street. Approximately 100 years old, the Empire has recently been refurbished to provide clean, modern facilities and a pleasant environment, whilst preserving the original features and character of this iconic Lyttelton building.

Hotel Accommodation is available in our recently refurbished rooms. All rooms have either hill or harbour views, and most have intimate views of our always-interesting township.

We offer double, single and twin rooms, all with hospitality trays, hot and cold running water, toiletries and towels provided for your convenience, and recently refurbished shared bathroom facilities.

Our rates are competitive, and we aim to offer a comfortable retreat whilst being right in the centre of Lyttelton, conveniently situated for the coffee shops, restaurants, farmers market, performance venues, the harbour, walking tracks and sightseeing
