Madrid at night

Spain is considered an exotic country in Europe due to its friendly inhabitants, relaxed lifestyle, its cuisine, vibrant nightlife and world-famous folklore and festivities. Same-sex marriage has been legal here since 2005, and it is still a great destination for gay and lesbian travelers, honeymooners included.

Among the many places worth visiting are Spain’s thriving capital Madrid (with a gay area called Chueca in the old quarter) , the vibrant coastal city of Barcelona, the famous “Running of the Bulls” at Pamplona, major Andalusian cities with Islamic architecture, like Seville, Granada and Córdoba, and the idyllic Balearic (home of Ibiza) and Canary Islands. (Gran Canaria is one of Spain’s sizzling outposts for scorching sun, sex and sangria.)

Sitges is another gay mecca, with a men-only beach and loads of gay bars. But for sophicticated culture, art, stunning architecture and shopping to die for, Barcelona is best. Vamos!
